Syngenta presents Tellus biofungicide in Spain
Syngenta has unveiled its Trichoderma asperellum and T gamsii -based biofungicide, Tellus, in Spain. The wettable powder formulation is a preventive solution for controlling crown and root rot (Phytophthora spp) and Sclerotinia diseases in horticultural crops such as peppers, tomatoes, aubergines, courgettes, melons, lettuces and strawberries. Tellus is formulated for soil application, consisting of natural micro-organisms “from registered strains”. Tellus controls soil diseases by improving root growth and promoting the crop’s initial growth. It prevents fungal pathigens from settling in and around the roots, taking all possible pathways and preventing development of disease, Syngenta notes.
