US court revives Syngenta's bid to sue Bunge

A US federal appeals court has thrown Syngenta a lifeline in its effort to get damages from US grain processing company, Bunge North America (St Louis, Missouri), for the grain exporter’s refusal to accept Syngenta’s genetically modified insect-resistant Agrisure Viptera (MIR162) maize. The ruling by the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals keeps alive one of the claims in a suit Syngenta filed against Bunge in August 2011 after the global shipping company began rejecting the maize line from US farmers.
