EU to seek more monitoring data on copper

More monitoring of the fungicides/bactericides, copper compounds, in soil and water is required to ascertain if any use limitations are necessary, the European Commission says. Its proposal to add this requirement to the active ingredient’s EU approval conditions was supported by the EU Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health in October. The adjustment follows an assessment of confirmatory data provided as part of the conditions attached to the ai’s first EU approval in 2009.
