Syngenta expands fungicide plant in Brazil
Syngenta is to enlarge its pesticide plant is Paulinia, Brazil, to formulate its new fungicide, Elatus (benzovindiflupyr - trade-marked as Solatenol + azoxystrobin), national and regional media report. The company is investing some R$100 million (US$40 million) in the expansion. Syngenta has launched the fungicide following its registration earlier this year. Elatus is for the control of Asian soybean rust (Phakopsora pachyrhizi), and has proven a growth driver for the company’s fungicide business.
