Paraguay destroys soy crops lacking agchem buffers

The Paraguayan authorities have destroyed two soybean crops near schools and residential property for applications of pesticide without a safety zone. The plant health inspection service, the Senave, inspected the destruction of the planted crops. A 2009 law requires a protective buffer zone of 100 m between a pesticide-treated agricultural field and areas of human habitation, health centres, places of worship and others places of human interaction.
