More Canadian farmers to hand over old pesticides
Farmers in the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island (PEI) have been invited to dispose of unwanted or obsolete pesticides and veterinary medicines between November 3rd and 14th. The collection is being managed by the agrochemical industry's CleanFarms organisation and the Canadian Animal Health Institute. PEI farmers have returned more than 69 tonnes of obsolete pesticides since 1998. In 2012 alone, they turned in more than 27 tonnes of products, CleanFarms notes.
