Nissan agchems up 16% in first half
Nissan Chemical recorded a 15.8% increase in consolidated agrochemical sales to ¥18,531 million ($163 million) in the six months ended September 30th 2014. Operating profit grew by 66.6% to ¥3,954 million ($35 million). Non-consolidated agrochemical sales added 13% on a non-consolidated basis during the first half of the fiscal year ending March 31st 2015. Non-consolidated sales of the herbicide, Roundup (glyphosate), rose by 30% during the period. Excluding Roundup, sales were up by 7%. Agrochemical revenues include the veterinary active ingredient, fluralener.
