Mitsui/Belchim agree deal on milbemectin
Japanese company Mitsui Chemicals Agro has granted European distribution rights for the insecticide/acaricide, Milbeknock (milbemectin), to Belgian company Belchim Crop Protection. The transfer of the business is planned to take a phased approach, country by country, and will be finalised by the end of 2015. Belchim will also take over the approval renewal of milbemectin under EU agrochemical Regulation 1107/2009. “Milbemectin is and will be an important compound in our present and future product portfolio,” says Belchim managing director Dirk Putteman. The company claims Milbeknock to be one of the best acaricides with a broad spectrum against different mite species, having an effect on all stages (eggs, larvae, nymphs and adults) of mites.
