Earworms detected on Brazilian wheat
The agricultural pest devastating cotton, maize and soybean crops in Brazil has been found on another major crop. Earworms (Helicoverpa armigera) have been detected on wheat in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, newswire Agrolink reports. Early detection may lead to controls that avoid widespread dissemination of the pest. They have produced losses running into billions of dollars annually in the past couple of seasons.
