Brazil minor-crop agchem regime advances
The Brazilian national health surveillance agency, the Anvisa, has authorised 50 pesticide active ingredients this year for use on minor crops, the agrochemical industry association, the Andef, reports. They have been registered for use on crops such as pineapples, strawberries, oranges and carrots. The agency, along with the Ministry of Agriculture and the environmental agency approved new guidelines on approvals earlier this year. The Anvisa had devised rules reportedly seeking to speed up such approvals.
