Argentine sourgrass resistant to glyphosate
A further weed has become resistant to the herbicide, glyphosate, in Argentina. Examples of resistance from sourgrass (Digitaria insularis) have been discovered in three regions of Argentina, the Argentine association of zero-tillage growers, the Aapresid, reports. Its national weed resistance knowledge network, the REM, team has confirmed reports of the resistance in the north-east, north-west and in the south of Santa Fe province. A red alert has been issued and the weed has become the eighth grass and 14th weed in total to become classified as resistant to the herbicide in Argentina, the Aapresid says.
