Semios gains US approval for three pheromones
The Canadian pest management company, Semios (Vancouver, British Columbia), has received US approval for three aerosol pheromone products for mating disruption of codling moths (Cydia pomonella) and oriental fruit moths (Grapholita molesta) in pome fruit. The dispenser is a custom-designed controller and sensor network for optimum pheromone deployment, the company points out. The dispenser typically emits a puff of pheromone every 15 minutes for 12 hours a day during the growing season. It is the only pheromone dispenser that can be controlled remotely, Semios notes.
