Triflumizole gains EU re-registration

Mitsui & Co’s agrochemical distribution company, Certis Europe, has gained EU re-registration for the fungicide, triflumizole, at the second attempt. The EU Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health voted in favour of the active ingredient at its March meeting. Certis resubmitted an application for triflumizole in 2008 under EU procedures covering ais that had been unsuccessful so far in gaining re-registration ( Agrow No 561, p 8). The EU authorities originally decided in 2008 not to re-register triflumizole and scheduled approvals to be withdrawn by March 18th 2009, with a further year to use up stocks.
