Australia to approve Chemtura's Rancona C

The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has recommended the approval of Chemtura’s fungicidal and insecticidal seed treatment, Rancona C (Kureha’s ipconazole + cypermethrin), for use on wheat, barley and oats. It is recommended for the control of various smuts ( Ustilago spp), bunt ( Tilletia spp) and stored grain pests. The APVMA recommended the approval of ipconazole as a new active ingredient in February ( Agrow No 586, p 24). The latest decision is open to a 28-day public comment period from March 30th.
