Bayer signs deal with CESB of Brazil
Bayer CropScience has partnered with the Brazilian strategic soybean committee, the CESB. The committee works with the supply chain to “improve productivity in a sustainable fashion through training growers”. Bayer’s strategic soybean marketing director in Brazil, Cássio Greghi, says that the company signed the deal for the opportunity to work “more closely with growers, while developing the use of GAP that would allow increased soybean productivity”. CESB chief executive Luiz Antonio da Silva highlights the organisations’ common goals. “Bearing in mind that among the CESB’s main aims and strategies is spreading the farmers’ use of technology, increasing national soybean production levels as well as developing a strong technology platform, you can see the synergy of objectives with Bayer.” Two Bayer executives will join the CESB board of directors as part of the deal.
