Bayer completes non-crop herbicide purchase from DuPont
Bayer CropScience has completed the purchase of certain DuPont land management herbicide assets in North America, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. The deal was agreed in October and completed on December 1st following the receipt of the required antitrust approvals. As part of the deal, 16 employees from DuPont will join Bayer's industrial vegetation management team in the US. Pro-forma sales of Bayer and DuPont's vegetation management businesses in 2013 amounted to €80 million ($100 million at the current rate), with DuPont's business in North America, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand making up some €50 million ($63 million).
