China gives pyraoxystrobin innovation honours
Chinese pesticide research company and Sinochem subsidiary Shenyang Research Institute of Chemical Industry (SYRICI) has been granted a technological innovation award by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. The prize is for a project to commercialise production of the fungicide, pyraoxystrobin. The project also won a pesticide innovation award at this year’s AgroChemEx conference in Shanghai, organised by the China Crop Protection Industry Association. The SYRICI has already been granted patents of invention in the US, China and Japan for the active ingredient. Pyraoxystrobin was issued with a provisional Chinese pesticide registration in 2009, and between 2011 and 2013 it was applied on over 120,000 ha of crops. Shenyang Sciencreat Chemicals, also a Sinochem subsidiary, was given a Chinese pesticide manufacturing approval for pyraoxystrobin (96%) in 2012.
