Renovare defeats Dow in Brazilian Tordon distribution case
Brazilian agrochemical distributor Renovare (Pernambuco) has won a legal verdict in the first instance against Dow AgroSciences on its rights to distribute Dow’s herbicide, Tordon (2,4-D + picloram), in three states. The companies agreed a deal nine years ago granting Renovare distribution rights in Ceará, Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte. Dow subsequently arranged its sales contracts above what Renovare could fulfill in the market, Renovare maintains. The court found for the latter and has ordered Dow to pay compensation. The company is appealing the decision at the Sao Paulo Court of Justice, media report.
