Brazil state delays computerised agchem sales data
The Brazilian state of Parana has delayed the deadline for bringing its new computerised data collection system into force by three months. It launched a computerised system on all pesticide sales within its boundaries in January ( Agrow No 585, p 18). The pesticide use and prescription system, the Siagro, was to be in force by this month. It was to tag all agronomic receipts at the region’s agricultural inspection service, the Defis. The new deadline has been fixed for July 19th. Farmer associations requested the extension.
