BASF presents new fungicide

BASF has unveiled a new carboxamide fungicidal active ingredient, fluxapyroxad. The company has branded the ai as Xemium. The ai received provisional approval from the ISO Technical Committee on Common Names for Pesticides in January ( Agrow No 584, p 19). Carboxamide ais act as succinate dehydrogenase inhibitors. Field trials show Xemium to be a highly effective and selective fungicide against major diseases in cereals, soybeans, maize, oilseed rape and specialty crops, says BASF.
