China drafts more manufacturing approvals
The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has issued a draft list of 232 pesticide manufacturing approvals. The majority of the draft authorisations are for pesticide processing or mixing of agrochemical compounds, while only three companies are to be granted approvals for the manufacture of active ingredients. The first is for Hunan Yale Biotechnology, which was awarded a draft approval for the insecticide, matrine mother liquid (5%). The second company is Yancheng South Chemicals, which will receive four herbicide ai manufacturing approvals: metribuzin (90%), tebuthiuron (97%), imazapic (98%) and imazapyr (98%). The third company is Xi'an Modern Pesticide with two fungicide approvals: propamocarb hydrochloride (90%) and bupirimate (97%). More approvals are for fungicides than any other product type, with 91 approvals. The public consultation for the draft list ends on December 12th.
