Brazil prosecutor calls for emamectin verdict urgency
The Brazilian public prosecutor’s office has called for urgency in a legal decision covering the use of the insecticide, emamectin benzoate, newswire Agrolink reports. It is contesting a legal decision to allow the approval of the insecticide in the major soybean-growing Mato Grosso state, having lost the case in the first instance at the federal regional court of the 1st region last month. The call is directed at the 6th Chamber of the Federal Court in Brasilia, which is judging the case in the second instance. The office is contesting the approval on health and efficacy in Brazilian agriculture concerns. It originally brought the case in June.
