Bayer launches bee care magazine
Bayer CropScience has launched a magazine on bee health. Beenow magazine reveals Bayer’s efforts “to unite partners from around the world, including research institutes and universities, beekeepers, farmers and industry partners, to jointly tackle the various challenges bees are facing”. Head of the Bayer Bee Care Center Annette Schuermann says that the company is working on various major contributing factors to bee health, highlighting the varroa mite. “The diversity of factors affecting bee health precludes one simple solution for all,” she says. The magazine will be complemented by supplementary material, such as videos at www.beenow.bayer.com. The first issue of the magazine, available in English and German, can be downloaded and ordered at www.beecare.bayer.com. Bayer has lost EU registrations due to bee health concerns for its clothianidin and imidacloprid insecticides.
