Sumitomo seeks to import Prolectus to New Zealand
Sumitomo Chemical Australia has applied to the New Zealand Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) to import the fungicide, Prolectus (fenpyrazamine 400 g/litre), for use on commercial grapevines. It is not expected to be manufactured in New Zealand and is unlikely to be repackaged or relabelled in the country, the company points out. Fenpyrazamine received its first global registration in South Korea in 2012 and its first commercial launch in Italy the same year. The fungicide has since been registered in the US, Japan and several more European countries. The New Zealand application is open to public comment until February 25th 2015.
