Brazil approves MBI’s Regalia Maxx
US biopesticide company Marrone Bio Innovations(MBI - Davis, California) has been granted Brazilian approval for its biofungicide, Regalia Maxx (Reynoutria sachalinensis extract). It is for the control of a wide variety of bacterial and fungal diseases including powdery mildew on several fruit and vegetables, including tomatoes, potatoes, and dried beans. Regalia Maxx is a more concentrated formulation than the established Regalia, and is the first plant extract-based fungicide to be approved in Brazil, MBI notes. MBI chief executive officer Pam Marrone views the registration as “critical to our global expansion plan”. Regalia Maxx can be used as a standalone product or in combination with other fungicides as part of IPM programmes.
