European agchem market up 11% in 2013
Agrochemical sales in Europe in 2013 grew by 10.9% over the previous year to €11,026.8 million ($13,649.5 million at current rate), reports the European Crop Protection Association (ECPA). The growth was 9.5% at constant exchange rates (CER). The ECPA figures include sales data from 30 countries, which were divided into the southern, central and northern zones and a fourth zone called "other Europe" comprising Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine. Business growth in the EU-28 countries was 4.9% (+3.5% at CER) to €8,720.8 million ($10,795 million).
