Extended EU biocide review deadline for chloralose
The European Commission has extended the deadline for the submission of dossiers to gain EU biocide re-registration for the active ingredient, chloralose, for use as an avicide and to control other vertebrate vermin. The new deadline is February 28th 2011. The ai is among several that were in the EU review of existing biocides, for which the original supporters for certain uses either withdrew or did not submit a full dossier by the required deadline. However, French pest control manufacturer LODI (Grand Fougeray) has taken over the role of notifier for the ai for the two uses. Rentokil Initial and Physalys remain the notifiers for chloralose’s use as a rodenticide. Portugal is rapporteur member state for chloralose.
