Monsanto imports PMIDA for Brazilian formulation

Monsanto has started to import glyphosate herbicide raw materials from the US for formulation in Brazil. The first load of some 300 tonnes of N-(phosphonomethyl) iminodiacetic acid (PMIDA) arrived this month at Sao Paulo from its US plant in Luling, Louisiana, Monsanto says. It is sufficient to produce 600,000 litres of the company’s glyphosate herbicide, Roundup, at its facility in Sao Jose dos Santos in Sao Paulo state.
