Brazil agchem sales to repeat 2008 peak

The Brazilian agrochemical industry expects the market to return to the record levels seen before the international banking crisis. The major impacts in 2009 came from “macro-economic” factors, such as the worldwide financial meltdown and the strengthening of the US dollar, agrochemical industry association, the Andef, executive-director Eduardo Daher stresses. The market in 2009 fell in US dollar terms by 8% to $6,559 million ( Agrow No 584, p 15).
