Nantong Jiangshan slips 14% in Q1
Chinese company Nantong Jiangshan Agrochemical and Chemical saw first-quarter sales fall by 13.8% to Yuan 548 million ($80.3 million at the current rate). The company recorded a loss of Yuan 8.3 million ($1.2 million) for the period. Sales of the herbicide, glyphosate, accounted for 85.1% of Nantong Jiangshan's 2009 agrochemical revenues, which fell 19.9% to Yuan 1,462.9 million ($214.3 million – Agrow No 591, p 8). Agrochemicals accounted for 62.8% of the company’s sales last year.
