EU tackles France on pesticide trade
The European Commission has asked France to remove trade barriers on garden pesticides, rodenticides and mole poisons. It is requesting that France repeal a decree adopted in October 2004 that restricts packaging sizes and prohibits repackaging. This is the second time that the Commission has tackled France on the issue. In February 2009, the French authorities responded by preparing a draft decree to correct the irregularities. However, the incriminating decree is still in force, the Commission notes.
