Japan's six-month agchem sales down 6%
Agrochemical sales in Japan fell by 6.3% to ¥204,289 million ($2,243.1 million at the current rate) for the first six months of the pesticide year compared with the same period in the previous year. The first half year runs from October 1st to March 31st, the Japan Crop Protection Association says. Volumes dropped further, down 10.5% to 112,833 tonnes. The falling market recovered markedly from the turn of the year following a 17% drop in the first four months ( Agrow No 594, p 25).
