Honduras Ag Minister wants greater GMO adoption
The Honduras Minister of Agriculture, Jacobo Regalado Weinzemblut, sees greater adoption of genetically modified crops ahead in his country. He spoke at a conference held last month in Honduras on “biotechnology and food security”. The Minister notes that “as yet very few hectares are planted [with GMOs], while trials and evaluations continue”. The conference was co-ordinated among Honduran authorities including the Ministry “to show attendees the positive experiences in Honduras with GM crops”.
