Bayer moves HQ for Iberian operations
Bayer CropScience has relocated its operations covering the Iberian peninsular. The company has invested €1 million ($1.3 million) in its regional headquarters at the Paterna technology park, Valencia. The new centre employs 60 people covering marketing, sales, and administration in Spain and Portugal. Bayer has a nearby formulation plant at Quart de Poblet. Regional media report that Bayer Spain’s director general, Rolf Deege, called on national authorities to speed up the registration process for pesticides at the official opening of the headquarters. He complained that the Spanish registration process typically ran for five years, against two in Germany, and only one in either France or the UK.
