More new ai provisional approvals extended in EU
Three-year provisional approvals for a further three new active ingredients are to be extended, to allow more time for the EU registration process to be completed. The latest ais to be cleared in this way by the EU Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health are Koppert’s fungicides, potassium iodide and potassium thiocyanate, and BioNext’s biofungicide, Candida oleophila strain O. Koppert’s fungicides are for use against powdery mildew on greenhouse crops and field strawberries ( Agrow No 476, 9), and hold provisional approvals in the Netherlands. BioNext’s C oleophila strain O is for post-harvest use on apples and pears. It holds provisional approvals in the UK, as Nexy 1, and France.
