Bayer launches Movento in Chile
Bayer CropScience has launched its ketoenol insecticide, Movento (spirotetramat) in Chile for use on grapevines and avocados. Chile plants 55,000 ha of grapevines, and it is a major export crop for the country. Bayer debuted Movento in the US, Canada and Austria in 2008, and it has since been launched in Colombia ( Agrow No 576, p 23). Chile and Argentina were targeted as the next South American markets for the insecticide. The company plans to market Movento in more than 70 countries in total. It has targeted medium-term annual worldwide sales of some €200 million ($284 million – Agrow No 547, p 19).
