New Zealand OKs Arysta's iodomethane

Arysta LifeScience has received approval in New Zealand for its fumigant, iodomethane. The company was granted approvals for three iodomethane/chloropicrin formulations for pre-plant soil fumigation in strawberries. The three formulations are Ripper 330 (iodomethane 33% + chloropicrin 67%), Ripper 500 (iodomethane 50% + chloropicrin 50%), and Ripper 980 (iodomethane 98% + chloropicrin 2%). They are intended as alternatives to methyl bromide, which has been largely phased-out in developed countries.
