USDA to start GMO stewardship training
The USDA is seeking expressions of interest in participating in its voluntary stewardship scheme for testing genetically modified organisms. The scheme is aimed at universities and companies involved in GMO testing. The USDA expects to conduct two training sessions under the Biotechnology Quality Management System (BQMS) programme this year and two next year. Each session will be limited to five or six organisations. The USDA launched a pilot BQMS scheme last year ( Agrow No 560, p 13).
