Brazil awards for environmental training
The Brazilian agrochemical industry association, the Andef, held its annual awards in late May, celebrating environmental and educational projects in the country. The 13th awards, Prêmio Andef de Mérito Fitossanitário, ranged across four categories, industry, employees, Campo Limpo - recycling and collection, and the Marçal Zuppi awards - named after a prominent agronomist of the association. The first category cited six companies as scoring a notable success in 2009. They were: Arysta LifeScience, BASF, Dow AgroSciences, DuPont, Monsanto and Syngenta, while top employee contributions came from the same companies plus a seventh, Iharabras. The pesticide container disposal organisation, the inpEV, co-hosted the event, selecting the leading collection station in its record-setting network of collection and recyclers.
