EFSA seeks views on agchem dossier guide
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has issued draft guidance on new requirements for submitting scientific literature sources in application dossiers for agrochemicals. The requirement is laid down in the new agrochemical registration Regulation (1107/2009), which will be implemented from June 14th 2011 ( Agrow No 581, p 8). It calls for applicants to provide “scientific peer-reviewed open literature .... on the active substance and its relevant metabolites dealing with side-effects on health, the environment and non-target species and published within the last ten years before the date of submission of the dossier”. The EFSA’s guidance provides instructions on how to select such literature and report the results in the dossier. It has opened a public consultation on the draft document until September 6th 2010. The guidance is available at: http://www.efsa.europa.eu/en/consultations/call/amu100723.htm.
