Rallis records 20% growth in first quarter
Rallis India recorded a 20% increase in sales to Rs 1,960.4 million ($42.5 million at the current rate) in its first quarter ended June 30th 2010. Sales included agrochemicals, seed, nutrients and non-agricultural chemicals. Net profit grew 57.5% to Rs 148.4 million ($3.2 million) compared with the same period last year. The company registered a 5% sales decline in the first quarter of the previous fiscal year ( Agrow No 575, p 8), although it ended the year with sales growth of 2.9% ( Agrow No 591, p 7). A production facility being set up at Dahej in western India ( Agrow No 535, p 5) will be commissioned in the current quarter, it says.
