Bayer debuts Curbix in Brazil

Bayer CropScience has launched its insecticide, Curbix (ethiprole) for use on sugar cane to controlsugar cane spittlebugs ( Mahanarva fimbriolata). Ethiprole is a broad-spectrum insecticide for use against aphids, weevils and stink bugs. Bayer was granted registration in 2007 for use on rice and sugar cane, the first in Latin America for ethiprole ( Agrow No 513, p 19). The active ingredient was first introduced in Japan in 2005 as Kirappu ( Agrow No 465, p 22).
