Ourofino opens agchem plant in Brazil
Brazilian animal health company Ourofino Agronegocio (Cravinhos) has opened a pesticide production plant in Uberaba, Brazil. Two buildings accommodate a production capacity of some 100 million litres per year. One will be dedicated to herbicide production, the other to fungicides, insecticides, mineral oils and surfactants. The move has created the agrochemical company, Ourofino Agrociencia. The Ourofino group has invested some $100 million in the facility, which will generate 750 jobs over the next three years, it says. “The estimated 100 million litres per year production capacity will enable the company to compete with the five major producers in the industry,” the company says. Ourofino has produced animal health products for 23 years, exporting to 30 countries.
