BASF's Treevix approved in California

BASF has received approval for its saflufenacil-based herbicide, Treevix, in the US state of California for use on nut trees, pome and citrus fruit. The product is effective as a burn-down treatment against more than 60 broadleaf weeds, BASF points out. It is seen as an ideal mixing partner for herbicides such as glyphosate. BASF received federal EPA approval for saflufenacil (trade-marked as Kixor) last September ( Agrow No 576, p 23). It was applied to more than 10 million acres (4 million ha) during its first year on the US market ( Agrow No 598, p 38).
