Bayer to invest in Dutch research facility
Bayer CropScience’s vegetable seed business, Nunhems, will invest €12 million ($15.3 million) in the expansion and modernisation of its Dutch research centre in Leudal. The existing research building at the centre will be enlarged from 2,200 m 2 to a total size of 6,400 m 2. It will be equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories for Nunhems’ biotech services such as DNA analyses, seed technology, cell biology and molecular breeding. The company expects the extended research facilities to be fully operational by the end of 2011.
