Chinese Q2 agchem import volumes up
Chinese agrochemical import volumes were up in all three categories during the second quarter of 2010. Herbicides saw the largest rise, up by over a third (35.9%) to 6,208.7 tonnes. The data were published by the national newspaper, the AgriGoods Herald. China imported some 44,000 tonnes of pesticides throughout 2009, down 0.5% on the previous year, a figure equivalent to only 8.7% of the exports during the same period ( Agrow No 589, p 22).
