PHC/Germains harpin deal

The US-based, UK-listed bioproducts company, Plant Health Care (PHC – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), has signed an exclusive global deal with the UK seed treatment firm, Germains Seed Technology (King’s Lynn, Norfolk). PHC has agreed to develop its harpin as a seed treatment for sugar beet in combination with Germain’s seed priming technologies. Germains, which is a subsidiary of Associated British Foods, claims to be the world’s largest independent seed treatment company, with a 40% share of the US sugar beet market and a 35% share in western and central Europe.
