US approval for Syngenta's Maxim Quattro
Syngenta has received US approval for a fungicidal maize seed treatment, Maxim Quattro, containing four active ingredients. It combines the ais in Apron XL (metalaxyl-M), Maxim 4FS (fludioxonil) and Dynasty (azoxystrobin) with thiabendazole. The product provides “unmatched” control of Fusarium spp and sets a new standard for maize seed treatments, the company says. It will be sold as a component of Avicta Complete Corn, which includes the nematicide, Avicta (abamectin), and the insecticide, Cruiser (thiamethoxam), or in the fungicide/insecticide, CruiserMaxx 250 Corn. Maxim Quattro will be available on a limited basis for the 2011 season.
