Sipcam-Oxon to acquire Monsanto seed facility
Sipcam-Oxon subsidiary Agroqualità has agreed to acquire a Monsanto seed production site in Italy. The facility in Lodi is equipped to process and store 800,000 bags of seed a year. It allows Agroqualità to expand its activity in the seed business and “implement strong synergies with the crop special nutrition activity”, where it maintains “a leading role since the launch of the microgranular starter fertiliser”. The deal includes a long-term exclusive licence for use of Monsanto soybean varieties under the Asgrow brand, Sipcam says. The transaction is part of Sipcam-Oxon’s strategy to acquire a strong position in the downstream oilseed business in Italy, it says.
