Complete EU dossiers for fluxapyroxad and penflufen
Application dossiers for the EU approval of two new fungicide active ingredients have been voted through as complete by the EU Standing Committee for the Food Chain and Animal Health. The ais are BASF’s fluxapyroxad and Bayer CropScience’s penflufen. The vote is an early stage in the EU registration process. Both fungicides are for use on a wide range of crops. BASF aims to introduce fluxapyroxad, branded Xemium, in Europe and the Americas in 2012, and has also filed applications in Australia and New Zealand ( Agrow No 593, p 22). Bayer has also applied for US approval of penflufen, as Emesto/Emerion, and a registration decision is expected in 2012 ( Agrow No 600, p 3).
